Recent additions to Oxfords vast range of protective clothing are the Strada Leather Sports Jacket and the Stradale 1-Piece Leather Suit. The Strada and Stradale leathers share features and technology with one another while each is oriented towards its specific field of use. The Strada is tailored towards touring riders with the Stradale for track-day enthusiasts, professional riders or those seeking the highest level of protection when hitting the street and each has its own design that betters performance in their respective environments.
Both the Strada and Stradale have auto-lock YKK zips on the cuffs with neoprene edging for a secure fit and additional comfort. Level 1 CE shoulder and elbow protectors provide impact protection with a pocket for the optional Oxford back protector. A mandarin collar with neoprene lining around the back of the neck improves comfort preventing painful rubbing, while a neckline zip cover prevents accidental unzipping. Completing their shared construction is the fully ventilated chest area, which prevents you over-heating by providing excellent airflow around the chest.
So, what makes the Stradale great for racing and track-days? Obviously, it’s a one-piece leather suit which provides full body abrasion protection in the event of a crash paired with Oxford monotone knee sliders providing impact protection for your lower half. Due to the three-part knee construction, an accordion stretch knee top and four-way stretch fabric on the groin and back of knees the Stradale provides protection without sacrificing rider comfort excellent for riders seeking all day riding and racing comfort. On the other side of the coin we have the Strada jacket, and while at first glance it may appear it’s a result of the Stradale with the bottom cut off, it’s a bit more technical than that. Firstly, to improve its protection it includes a short connection zip that connects to most Oxford pants to prevent the jacket riding up in the event of a crash.
Ultimately, the Strada is designed to provide exceptional comfort making it perfect for sports touring and street riding all without sacrificing its protective qualities. Shoulder & elbow stretch panels along with hip adjustment straps ensure your jacket is sitting perfectly providing excellent freedom of movement on and off the bike. Hand-warming pockets are excellent for touring in cold areas or in winter, just make sure you pull over before utilising them. The Strada also features an internal neoprene pocket granting you easy access to your phone or wallet.
